A lot of attention goes into managing the build.
Coordinating trades, keeping things moving, dealing with issues as they come up. It’s visible and it feels like progress.
The financial side is less visible.
Costs shift as decisions are made. Timing changes when money is needed. It doesn’t always get picked up straight away, especially when everything appears to be progressing well.
On the surface, the project can look like it’s on track.
Underneath, the position is starting to change.
That gap is where problems tend to build.
Managing the build keeps the project moving day to day.
Managing the money gives you a clear view of where the project is actually heading. Both matter, but they’re not the same thing.
